Thomson Reuters, leading global mass media firm, has announced their partnership with SuperCharger, a Hong Kong-based FinTech Accelerator.
The partnership will allow FinTech startups undergoing the accelerator to gain access to Reuter’s technology and market-related information and data. Besides that, Thomson Reuters will also provide mentorship and advice to the FinTech startups.
The SuperCharger Accelerator is a 12-week long program launched by FinTech HK and founded alongside Standard Chartered, Baidu and TusPark Global Network. Besides that, it is supported by big names such as Microsoft, EY, Invest HK, Baker & McKenzie and the Hong Kong Exchange.
As first mentioned on Thomson Reuters, Gautam Verma, Head of Market Development for Enterprise in Asia and part of the FinTech Task Force at Thomson Reuters, said, “Hong Kong continues to be a leading and dynamic FinTech hub in Asia Pacific. By opening Thomson Reuters technology, tools and services to FinTechs, we aim to foster sustained, ongoing innovation to allow us to be pivotal in this industry’s transformation. The SuperCharger accelerator program provides a perfect opportunity for us to do that.”
The accelerator program which launched last October, began their first acceleration batch on 11 January with 8 finalists. The startups are undergoing the curriculum at the moment and will be participating in ‘Demo Day’ in about a month’s time, on 8 April 2016.
